Javier Torres Maldonado is a recipient of a National Fund for the Arts and Culture Fellowships, FONCA/CONACULTA (The National Council for Culture and Arts of Mexico), 2009-2012.
For 2009 he wrote the STRING QUARTET NUMBER ONE, commissioned by Irvine Arditti and the Austrian festival Klangspuren.

Javier Torres Maldonado is working in a new piece (Commande de l'Etat 2007) for the soprano Francois Kubler and the Ensemble Accroche Note from Strasbourg.
